Candle Care – Container Candles

Every candle sold comes with a candle care card that needs to be read before lighting your candle.

It is important to ensure you follow these simple steps to ensure your burning candles safely in your home or office as we will not replace or refund if you have not followed our candle care instructions.

How long should I burn by my candle on the first burn?

To prevent tunneling and create a candle memory, the first time you light your candle let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the glass.  Never burn a candle for more than 4 hours.

What to do before each burn?

Trim the wick approx. 5-6mm before relighting.  Doing this will allow the candle to burn at the recommended and safe temperature.  If it is not trimmed it will mushroom (the curling & black mound at the top of our wick) resulting in it burning hotter.  Trimming the wick each time will help your candle to burn evenly and longer, helping to eliminate smoking & minimising soot forming on the container.

Where to burn your candle.

Burn your candle on an appropriate flat heat-resistance surface in a draft free area away from pets, children and flammable materials as the glass may become hot.  Never move a burning candle.  Ensure candle is extinguished, wax is solid, and jar is cold before handling.

Stop using your candle.

When approximately 2cm of wax remain in the jar to avoid potential fire hazard or cracking of your jar.

Never leave candles unattended.

Never leave a burning candle unattended.  Extinguish all candles before leaving a room or going to sleep.

How to store your soy candles.

Candles are sensitive to temperature and sunlight.  Store your candles in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.

Fragrances that have a Vanilla content can also cause your candle to discolour.

Appearance.

Our candles are hand poured, not mass produced.  Although all effort is made to ensure consistency, every candle will be different.

Sometimes you may notice darker patches or wet spots in the glass, this is not a fault and does not affect the candle burn in anyway.
